I've heard from different sources that this image may be the most viewed and well-known photograph of all time. If so, I think it deserves the title. It really showed people how connected we all, and how petty our wars are. We all live on the pale blue dot, as Carl Sagan put it. Apollo 8, although not as famous as Apollo 11, was perhaps an even more daring mission, being the first to leave our planet and orbit the moon.
